LinkedIn's R&D Chili Cook-Off, 4th Annual - 2015

As an event planner, I was thrilled to oversee LinkedIn’s annual Chili Cook-Off in 2015, held in a park where I had the unique challenge of figuring out how to provide power to all the competitors' pots while securing the necessary city permits. With over 1,000 members of our R&D team gathered in Menlo Park, 18 teams dedicated weeks to preparing five gallons of chili each, eager to impress their colleagues with creative entries. I was amazed by the innovative ingredients they used, from homemade pretzel buns and ouzo to a chaat-style chili with an Indian twist. The competition was intense, and it was clear that several chefs truly stood out and deserved special recognition.

To enhance the atmosphere, I also organized an Oktoberfest celebration featuring lively yodelers, lawn games, and a craft beer garden showcasing local brewers. While the festivities were lively and engaging, the real star of the day remained the chili, bringing everyone together for a fun-filled experience of camaraderie and culinary delight.
